Community Group Provides Gift Baskets for Young Cancer Patients

Community Group Provides Gift Baskets for Young Cancer PatientsAn Overland Park, Kansas-community group, decided to give back to its community. Partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Kansas City chapter, Lee & Associates staffers and brokers spent May Day building 150 May Day baskets that they then donated to cancer patients at the KU Cancer Center, Kansas City Cancer Center and Children’s Mercy Hospital.

The baskets were filled with items designed to brighten the days of these cancer patients. The group hand-delivered the baskets. After this, they then headed to their local Ronald McDonald House where they prepared dinner for the families of seriously ill children who have traveled to Kansas City for treatment.

“Having worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on its fund-raising committee for the last five years, it was fun to get to work directly with the patients whose lives are impacted by the organization’s commitment and dedication to this cause,” said Erik Murray of Lee & Associates, in a written statement. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with such a great organization.” Article: rejournals.com
